The high number of fatalities in the motorcyclist collective represents a problem throughout the Latin America and the Caribbean region.Although the use of motorcycle in Latin America is quite recent, it has increased considerably in recent years, so that the Mobile motorcycle park has increased twice as many cars.To reduce the deceased and injured in road accidents in Latin America and the Caribbean, as in many other regions of the world, it is required to formulate intervention strategies that reduce the growth of motorcycle use, as well as reduce the risks they haveThe motorcyclists.

To the natural vulnerability of pedestrians is added the fact that a large number of them are older people, who normally make a lower use of the car and a greater number of walking on foot or by collective transport.In order to improve and safeguard the safety and rights of the pedestrian, Ibero -American countries are urged to adopt a series recommendations.

The concern for the safety of motorists is a challenge throughout the region.Countries that now do not have a problem with the security of motorcycles will have it in the future.Given this important challenge, the traffic agencies that are part of the Ibero -American Road Safety Observatory (OISEVI) have launched this work of participation of the countries to know the situation, the problem and seek proposals adapted to the needs of the countries.
